Kurma Importir: Unveiling the Nutritional Power of Dates

Why Mazafati is a different import case than most varieties

Most dried date varieties ship easily because they're stable at room temperature. Mazafati isn't one of them. This is a soft, dark, high-moisture date — moisture content often sits well above 30%, compared to under 20% for drier varieties like Deglet Noor. Kurma Importir handling Mazafati has to treat it closer to fresh produce than to shelf-stable dried fruit.

Cold chain from Kerman to Malaysia

Mazafati is grown mainly around Kerman and Bam in southeastern Iran, and it starts losing quality the moment it leaves controlled storage. Shipments that skip refrigerated containers arrive softer, sometimes fermented at the edges, and with a shorter remaining shelf life than the paperwork suggested. A batch that traveled cold the whole way keeps its dark, glossy skin; one that didn't turns dull and sticky faster than buyers expect.

Grading by moisture, not just size

Size-based grading works for firmer varieties, but with Mazafati moisture content matters more. Lower-moisture batches hold shape and last longer outside the fridge; higher-moisture batches taste richer but need colder, tighter storage from the moment they land. Pricing differences between grades often trace back to this moisture split more than to size or cosmetic appearance.

How it compares to Mariami and Piarom on the shelf

Buyers who know Mariami or Piarom sometimes assume Mazafati behaves the same way. It doesn't. Mariami and Piarom run drier and store closer to room temperature for longer; Mazafati needs refrigeration from importer to end buyer if it's going to hold its texture past a few weeks. Mixing storage practices across these three varieties is a common mistake that shows up as spoiled stock nobody can explain.

What the fruit is made of, regardless of storage

Composition is fixed by the fruit itself, not by how it's stored. A 100-gram serving carries around 75 grams of carbohydrate and roughly 7 grams of fibre, with about 2 grams of protein and under 1 gram of fat. The vitamin and mineral profile includes B6, niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin K, potassium, magnesium and copper — figures that hold whether the batch was handled well or badly. Packaging built for wholesale volume still needs a temperature-controlled leg for this particular variety; sealed cartons alone don't solve a moisture problem.

What to check before buying Mazafati specifically

Ask whether the shipment traveled refrigerated the whole way, not just from the port to the warehouse. Ask for the moisture grade, not just a size grade. And store it cold once it's yours — Mazafati rewards buyers who treat it as the perishable fruit it actually is.
